Carey Goldberg is a Global Human Resources strategist with 25+ years of experience developing transformational strategy and shaping high-performing cultures at companies such as Marriott International, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, JBG SMITH, and AOL. She is a trusted advisor to senior leadership in deploying human capital initiatives at scale. She is respected for her cultural agility, business acumen, data driven approach and ability to influence and drive transformational change in highly matrixed, geographically dispersed organizations.
Most recently, Carey served as Chief Human Resources Officer at JBG SMITH where she built an inclusive, strategic HR function for the newly public REIT. Prior to JBG SMITH, she spent 14 years at Marriott International, in a number of key leadership positions - including, Global Officer, Human Resources, The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company and Global Officer, Learning & Development.
Carey’s early career work was in consulting, as a Compensation Consultant with KPMG where she focused on executive compensation and salary management. And, with PwC she was in the Strategic and Organizational Change practice, working on culture change and leadership development engagements.
Carey earned her MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management and her BS in Industrial and Labor Relations, both from Cornell University. Carey has two daughters and one furry son, and lives in Bethesda, MD.
